Owen 6 months

A little overdue...

Owen turned 6 months on May 19th, I can't believe it has already been 1/2 a year! This boy has already been through so much in 1/2 a year...hematomas, RSV, dairy intolerance...just to name a few. But, he is happiest being held or given undivided attention.  And, his smile just melts your heart!

Owen's 6 month milestones
  • officially a roller
  • getting pretty good at the army crawl
  • loves to try and get all of Eva's toys
  • only likes to sleep in someone's arms
  • discovered he has a dairy intolerance (no wonder he doesn't sleep well and gets super cranky)
  • sits up like a champ
  • has the most adorable smile

Owen devours Avocado

We recently took the plunge and gave Owen his first taste of solids.  He was ecstatic, arms waving and legs kicking up a storm.  The instance I took the spoon away to get another bite for him he would start waving and kicking again! I'd say his first taste of food was a huge success!  This boy loves to eat!

April 2016

In April Eva continued her feat to become potty trained!  She is doing really good, she still has accidents here and there, but overall she goes in the potty.  Owen continued learning and growing as well.  He can now roll over, and like to sit up by himself for a few seconds at a time.  As a family we enjoyed spending time at home, the weather was very snowy in April!

Owen's milestones

  • started to roll over
  • had his first taste of avocado
  • babbles up a storm, he has some good stories
  • went on his first swing at the park

Eva's milestones

  • talking up a storm putting 3 and 4 words together
  • LOVES to play outside
  • wants to take her stuffed animals everywhere
  • has started engaging in pretend play, she especially loves to be a mommy to her animals
  • on her way to being a potty trained big girl

Owen 5 months

Another month has come and gone. This past month has been filled with lots of growing. Owen is about the size of a 7 month old! ;)  He transitioned into Eva's room so it is now officially Owen and Eva's room!  I can tell he likes the crib much better than the cradle or pack n play, but he still isn't sleeping through the night.  I keep telling myself he will eventually! Also, Eva is starting to get the hang of being a big sister and Owen gets hugs and kisses all the time.  She even brings him toys to play with.

Owen's milestones
  • rolling over (front to back and back to front)
  • spins in circles on the floor
  • started blowing raspberries
  • talks up a storm
  • hates to sleep longer than 3 hours at a time
  • loves to grab for toys and shove them in his mouth
  • has the best giggle (even though he didn't smile for his 5 month pictures he can giggle, giggle, giggle)

March 2016

March was tease when it came to weather.  We had gorgeous days where we went for walks and played at the park and then the snow came.  We spent a good portion of the end of March indoors (it's a bit of a challenge getting outside to play in snow when Owen is so small yet getting a bit big to carry in the Ergo)! But, this gave us plenty of time to start potty training Eva.  She is so independent that she often goes and I don't know! The next step is going on the potty when we're out and about!  Owen has started to giggle with delight when you're playing with him.  He loves to be tickled and kissed all over!
Eva wants to hold Owen even though he is just about as big as her!

Eva falls asleep in the car when she plays instead of naps!

First pigtails!

Lip, lip, lip!

All smiles!

February 2016

Another month has come and gone...

Owen spent the first part of the month on oxygen due to RSV.  Thankfully, we only had to spend one night in the hospital and then he was on oxygen for 2 more weeks.  He has continued to grow and become such a talkative little man.  He just loves to smile and chat the day away!

Eva is quite the big girl!  She moved into her big girl bed, sits facing forward in her car seat, and is on her way to being potty trained.  I can't believe she will be two in May!  Her hair has a mind of its own and we're never sure what kind of hair day she will have.  She too is talking up a storm, starting to put two and three words together at a time.  She loves to talk about things that happened to her earlier in the day or even a couple weeks ago!
