36 weeks round two

Let the countdown begin!  I can't believe Baby Dos is already so close to making his arrival.  I have been busy attempting to prepare for his arrival.  Clothes are washed, hospital bag is packed-ish, Eva's bag is packed-ish, and the house is ready-ish!  Other than nesting, I have been feeling more tired and not sleeping very well.  Obviously, these are normal pregnancy issues, but it doesn't mean they are fun.  As we wait for our little man's arrival I am anxious to see how Eva reacts.  She has been learning and growing so much since we found out she would be a big sister.  I know she will be a great helper and awesome big sis!

(41/52) I love my little red wagon!

(42/52) My absolute favorite thing to do is color and play with stickers.  Oh, and sit in the box where Mommy keeps my colors!

Eva gets stitches

Eva gave us quite the scare Monday morning.  We were just playing in the living room, Eva was dancing.  Next thing you know she trips and hits her head square on the edge of the bookshelf.  I picked her up to give her cuddles and kisses, took one quick look not expecting to see too much damage.  I mean what 1 1/2 year old doesn't bonk their head once in a while?  To my surprise, I looked and immediately carried her towards Chris and said "I think she needs to go to the ER."  Although there wasn't much blood there was an unmistakable gash on her forehead.  We quickly gathered a few items jumped in the car and headed to Children's Hospital.  Eva was quite the trooper.  She cried very little the entire way there and was really good about not touching her forehead.  Once we arrived it was a different story.  I think she was more scared about not really understanding what was happening more than anything.  She cried quite a bit as the nurse checked her out and again when the medical student examined her.  After about 30 minutes she started to get a bit more comfortable.  We watched cartoons and ate ice chips as we waited for the numbing medicine to take effect.  Thankfully, she didn't have any signs of a concussion or other ailments.  Once numb and calmed, the doc came in and got her set up to put in the stitches.  They said most kids hate being held down more than anything since they really can't feel the stitches being put in.  Eva was just amazing, she fussed very little during this time (more annoyed with the bright light).  We sang songs and tried to stay happy.  After a few minutes the doc did a final count...7 stitches in all!  Eva has been her happy self ever since!  In about 5 days she'll have her stitches removed.  Oh and did I mention we are taking family pictures on Sunday?  I guess this is why they invented Photoshop! :) Happy Monday!

Four Mile Park 2015

Living in our new neighborhood we are minutes from the historic Four Mile Park.  Eva and I walk past the Four Mile Park at least once a week, but this weekend we actually got to visit during their Harvest Days. We spent the morning walking around seeing all the cool things.  Eva would beam with excitement yelling "wow" or "neigh" every time she saw something cool or we saw a horse.  She enjoyed running around the pumpkin patch, not really interested in the pumpkins.  Rather, trying to meet new friends and wanting to eat kettle corn (although, she did finally find the perfect Eva sized pumpkin).  We also got to enjoy a wagon ride where Eva got to pet the horse afterwards!

Family Trip to Breckenridge

This week we took a little road trip to Breckenridge.  We drove over Kenosha Pass on 285 in order to avoid the dreadful I-70.  We caught the tail-end of the beautiful fall colors and enjoyed a wonderful family day.  Eva kept us on our toes...she either wanted be held by mama, run wild and free, or be Miss Independent by pushing her stroller with no help...she literally could not make up her mind!
Miss Independent

Very upset because we wouldn't let her get in the water!

Loving on Eva

In a blink of an eye our little baby is turning into a little girl!
