Eva gave us quite the scare Monday morning. We were just playing in the living room, Eva was dancing. Next thing you know she trips and hits her head square on the edge of the bookshelf. I picked her up to give her cuddles and kisses, took one quick look not expecting to see too much damage. I mean what 1 1/2 year old doesn't bonk their head once in a while? To my surprise, I looked and immediately carried her towards Chris and said "I think she needs to go to the ER." Although there wasn't much blood there was an unmistakable gash on her forehead. We quickly gathered a few items jumped in the car and headed to Children's Hospital. Eva was quite the trooper. She cried very little the entire way there and was really good about not touching her forehead. Once we arrived it was a different story. I think she was more scared about not really understanding what was happening more than anything. She cried quite a bit as the nurse checked her out and again when the medical student examined her. After about 30 minutes she started to get a bit more comfortable. We watched cartoons and ate ice chips as we waited for the numbing medicine to take effect. Thankfully, she didn't have any signs of a concussion or other ailments. Once numb and calmed, the doc came in and got her set up to put in the stitches. They said most kids hate being held down more than anything since they really can't feel the stitches being put in. Eva was just amazing, she fussed very little during this time (more annoyed with the bright light). We sang songs and tried to stay happy. After a few minutes the doc did a final count...7 stitches in all! Eva has been her happy self ever since! In about 5 days she'll have her stitches removed. Oh and did I mention we are taking family pictures on Sunday? I guess this is why they invented Photoshop! :) Happy Monday!

Poor baby!!! :(
